The annual awards for journalism have been provided in the field of protection of children's rights in Kosovo

Coalition of NGOs for Child Protection in Kosovo - KOMF, in cooperation with forumZFD and Kosovo Education Center - KEC, through EIDHR projects funded by the European Union and managed by the European Union Office in Kosovo, held today the ceremony of annual awards for journalism in the field of protection of children's rights in Kosovo.

The opening ceremony was made by Mrs. Donjeta Kelmendi, Executive Director at KOMF, who then, for the welcome speech invited the Ambassador Nataliya Apostolova, Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo / EU Special Representative.

Presentation of the Evaluation Committee evaluation was made by Mrs. Evliana Berani, Chair of the Evaluation Committee, who thanked the organizers, who this year joined forces to further promote journalists working in the field of protection of children's rights in Kosovo, rewarding them for their work.

Evaluation of the stories of journalism that applied in this competition was performed by the jury composed of Evliana Berani – Professor of Journalist in “Pjetër Budi” College, Eglantina Kraja Bardhi – Professor of Psychology in “Fama” College and Imer Mushkolaj - Professor of Journalist in “Pjetër Budi” College. The prizes for the best writings /reportages of 2017 in the field of children's rights were awarded as follows:

Journalist Agan Hajdarhoxha of Klan Kosova, with the topic "Difficult conditions of autism centers", won the annual Award 2017, which was awarded by Mr. Hilmi Jashari, Ombudsperson.

The journalist Dafina Halili from KOSOVO 2.0 with the topic "Beyond the Measles Outbreak” won the Annual Award 2017, which was awarded by Mrs. Nataliya Apostolova, Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo.

Edona Kutleshi journalist from Koha Ditore with the theme "Students who sacrificed their life for school building" won the Annual Award 2017, awarded by Mrs. Vjollca Islami Hajrullahu, forumZFD.

Journalist Vullnet Krasniqi from Insajderi with the topic "Children's stories working at traffic lights in Pristina" won the Annual Award 2017, which was awarded by Mrs. Ardita Kabashi, KEC.

Saranda Bujupi Rama from Klan Kosova, the program "My Family" won the Annual Award 2017, which was awarded by Mr. Gani Lluga, President of the Coalition of NGOs for Child Protection.

KOMF, Forum ZFD and KEC thank all media representatives, authors and journalists who have continuously shown their readiness to cooperate on behalf of the protection of children's rights.
